UPDATE: I met Bradley Whitford!!

I got a couple pictures and he was honestly one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met.

But that’s not what you read this post for. You want to know the secret plan to fight inflation. In Bradley’s words “hahahahaha (copious amounts of laughter). I loved that episode. It never occurred to me to come up with an actual plan. But I decided to be so confident and so wrong as to imitate some politicians”. We also had a nice talk about gerrymandering.

I appreciate all the questions y’all sent in. I took the best one imo and got the best answer I could.

Bradley Whitford is the highlight of the Two Turkeys episode

He takes an episode that should be nothing but secondhand embarrassment and cringe, and makes it hysterical. From his obliviousness at the beginning through the drunken one-upsmanship, to the cutting off his thumb, and being loopy in the hospital, he's a delight.

Bradley Whitford on Studio 60

I'm just reading the oral history of 30 Rock, cleverly titled "The 30 Rock Book", and the whole first chapter is about their rivalry with Studio 60. Brad's quoted quite a lot (and various members of the 30 Rock cast and crew have a lot to say about Sorkin, too). While he mostly blames Studio 60's failure on it being overhyped, he also says what I've been saying for 15 years, which is very validating.

(This quote comes after some discussion of how 30 Rock was funny while Studio 60 was merely "witty", contextualizing why he seems to be down on "wit" here.)

When you set something in Saturday Night Live, you're talking about the funniest people in the world. When you're doing The West Wing, the arena is C-SPAN. When you're watching the government function and you get wit, it's a gift. When you're watching what are supposed to be the funniest people in the world and you get wit, it pisses you off.

[No Spoilers] Bradley Whitford

Every time I see Bradley on screen I can’t unsee his character as Josh Lyman from The West Wing.

I’m watching both, The Handmaids Tale and The West Wing, and seeing old and younger Bradley gives me whiplash.

I love how Commander Lawrence has a sense of humor which reflects Josh Lyman’s wit and it just makes me really happy. But I really can’t stop referring to Lawrence as Josh.

Also Old Bradley > Young Bradley

That is all. Anyone else?

EDIT: I TOTALLY FUCKING FORGOT THAT JUNE WAS ZOEY BARTLET, DAUGHTER OF PRESIDENT BARTLET AND NOW JOSH AND ZOEY GET TO ACT TOGETHER IN OLD AGE AAAAAAAA
