SOLVED!!! it's called New World on netflix!!! there was this show on some streaming service, i want to say netflix but i'm not sure. i only watched the first one or two episodes. but it was these contestants, i'm not sure what the incentive was or the prize, but they were all shipped out to this nice luxurious island. they got their dream houses and a phone with tasks on them. in the first episode they got to explore the island and there was a parade going on and at the same time on the other side of the island TWICE or BLACKPINK was doing a concert. if this sounds familiar or you know what i'm talking about PLEEEAASSEE help a girl out.
Spoiler alert So I'm watching the US Traitors and the UK version, both season 2, both filmed at the same castle in Scotland and it appears to be Autumn for both. The challenges are the same and everything. Reading online, none of the players actually stay the night in the castle but are instead transported to a hotel every night. It got me thinking that to maybe save on production costs and time, both shows were likely filmed during the same weeks. That way you'd have a catering contract for a month, PAs and film crew for a month, etc all set up at the same time and shared. Even the color-coded buffalo plaid lumberjack shirts were re-used between shows. It seems highly possible that they could have the UK cast out doing a challenge while the US cast is in the castle having lunch, interviewing, and scheming. Then switch. Does anyone know if these were filmed back to back or at the exact same time, splitting filming time?
Was there a reality dating show where the people on it were in the cold and they all wore parkas? They like didn't know what each other's bodies looked like... anyone???
Please let me know! I'm interested in people's predictions!
What tips or advice would you give someone who was chosen to be a contestant on a long-term reality show? They've already signed the contract to go on the show.
What are some good rules of thumb to remember to prevent yourself from tanking mentally, missing family, or going insane from all the manipulation?
Think "America's Next Top Model"-type shows.
I'm posting this in a few subreddits to gather responses.
And I’m not just talking about people from dating shows, I’m talking about reality in general. Please let me know in the comments below.
Starting today on 1 June 2024, if you like to share a video, that video must be about a reality TV series. A video can be a video clip, a whole episode, a video review, or any other video.
However, that reality TV series must be first distributed by either a broadcast or cable network or a streaming service that either is ad-filled (like Tubi or Pluto TV) or requires subscription (like Netflix).
A reality TV series cannot be a self-produced series first posted on YouTube! The series cannot be user-generated or amateur(ish) either!
Furthermore, a video clip or a whole episode must BE authorized by either a production company that produces the series or a legitimate licensee that has authority to distribute the series, like a network or streaming service that generates money from commercials (especially for free content) or requires subscription.
Please note: the rule is a stopgap (if not indefinite) rule. I just don't have enough space to declare the rule a "stopgap". Able to label the rule clearly in the title, not description.
Mine would be Physical:100.
How about yours?
Has anyone watched the finale? What did you think of the Barbie/Kyle situation at the end? I was never a big Barbie fan because of her entitled attitude.
I remember seeing a clip on YouTube of a reality tv show. I think it was about models. Like models competing or something. Anyway the clip consisted of all the models at a salon and a few of them were taken into a back room for a Brazilian wax. I feel like just one of them got it and the rest decided against it. It’s bothering me that I can’t find it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?
Which below deck Captain and series is your favorite? I loved Captain Lee and the OG below deck>
Hey everyone I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but IYO what are the best unscripted reality shows
I can't stand reality TV that is clearly scripted or heavily scripted or that the cast are being really fake shows such as TOWIE just feel really fake.
I'm not naive I understand that certain aspects of shows like below deck, such as guests and crew members selections are chosen ahead of time by the shows producers but it feels like the interactions and cast are genuine and I can't get enough of them.
TIA 😁
Hi guys what do you guys think of Below Deck? It's become one of my favorite reality shows and I just can't get enough of it. I think I heard of the show through social media but I don't remember when I discovered it. The show feels very real because if you look up the charter guests that go on the yachts they are all real people. The crew also are real employees and their backgrounds are able to be googled. It's super entertaining and has a lot of drama throughout the crew and even the guests. Some scenes I'm sure are a bit embellished or the producers for sure might tell them to do something extra but for the most part the show seems authentic and the beef between the crew members seems very real. What do you guys think?
I love reality TV and I’m looking to start a new show. Should I watch Vanderpump Rules or Below Deck? There’s so many seasons and I know both are a big commitment so I only want to start one right now. I’ve enjoyed Kardashians, Love Island, and any reality show on Netflix.
Has anyone else gotten ads for this app? I saw some on Instagram and downloaded it without digging into it lol. Most of the people on it are in LA studying film or musicians etc. I read a comment on another post on Reddit that it's for LA residents only (I'm from Texas and still could join). Anyone know the real story behind it?
I'm guessing LA based app developers and TV producers came together to create the app as a means to promote the "show". I'm sure it's already cast (insert beautiful "actors/film majors") and they're asking people to joined the "cast" to gather more traffic) viewers. Curious to hear other conspiracies!
This season of US the circle (6) is unwatchable to me. I've watched all seasons of the UK and US versions and this season is different. The contestants have clearly been told by producers to overact, dance around and act extra af to any alert. The chat between contestants is soo sedate, surface level, cheesy and boring. It feels scripted and phony. Where are all the catfishes which made the show interesting? There's literally 1 catfish? The AI was obv controlled and adjusted to fit what the producers wanted. I hate overproduced, phony, manipulated tv. It seems Americans do this a lot, when 'real' reality TV is so much more interesting. Watch the first season of UK circle to see the difference.
So far I could only find the first episode. I’ve scoured the internet and it seems to wiped so I’m hoping someone here has it download or a link! It aired on a British channel in 2003-2004.
My wife and I started watching this show and we know we’ve seen this house before. Has anyone watched this show and know what else was filmed here?
New faces, new drama! 🎬🏠
What's your take on the latest shakeup in the Housewives universe? With so many cast changes and Dorit returning as a 'friend,' it's bound to stir things up.
Personally, I would have liked to see Dorit stay on the main cast.
I hate to say this, but I have been hoping a sudden revitalization or revival of this sub.
As far as I can see, still very low reply count on almost every post. This would've been one of reasons to shut this sub down. However, technically, we can't delete the whole sub.
If shutting down the sub isn't a good answer, then how else can this sub's activity and and fate be solved?
