God, I can't read that without hearing her name in his voice.

u/Colonel__Cathcart avatar

I'd die to see her cook the AR

Same.

Pamela is his younger sister. But I would love to see Cara on AR.

Put him on The Traitors.

US, UK, Australia, Canada, doesn't matter.

u/Colonel__Cathcart avatar

I'd watch George on all 3.

•

I think I saw somewhere where Luke is going to be on the next season of the traitors. Which is equally exciting in my book.

If I saw either him or luke on the show I’d immediately go “yeah. They def made him the traitor”

Yes Luke Toki is on the cast of AU Traitors Season 2.

Who in their right mind would let George survive even one night at this point lol

I would kill him night 1 regardless of how much he talks himself up as a shield or some bs like that

• • Edited

George has proven he can be a shield and can get anyone really far. He also can’t win immunity so he’s easily able to be sent home in the finals. Given all this id roll with George and just cut him at the end

u/Kreauwen avatar
•

You mean like Shonee did in HvV

[deleted]
[deleted]
•

No, like Matty or Liz after the Shonee blindside. Shonee wasn't planning on taking George to the end which is exactly why she was sent home. So uh, ur argument doesn't make any sense

Emma is the former yellow wiggle, right?

u/KateOTomato avatar

Yes! I came to comment this. When my daughter was into The Wiggles, Emma was on it and my daughter's favorite!

Shonee & Fenella would be such a fun pair

u/saintzachariah666 avatar

Jackie and Ben from Real Housewives of Melbourne too, they’re kinda too into eachother. Get Janet and Gina on there, that’ll be a show

More like Ben from one of Australia's greatest rock bands, silverchair

Isn’t that Harry guy a tiktoker?

Yeah that’s Harry jowsey

I’ve just realised that Peter is Brett from Kath and Kim!

If any non-Australians or Kiwis are interested in how one would break down who is the celebrity here, and excluding non-celeb family members, I would personally go:

Legit Australian Celeb:

Grant Denyer

Emma from the Wiggles

Jana Pittman

Peter Rowthorn

Celeb for 90s teens:

Ben Gilles

The rest are D graders or reality TV wannabes or maybe famous only on one side of the Barassi Line . Heck I watch a lot of trashy reality TV, and I am struggling with a few of them. But at least no MAFS folk? Though the Love Island blokes might come close... LOL

Is there no type of Diversity in Australia reality tv. Like you cant possibly tell me no ethnic people applied to be on the show and weren’t interesting enough to be cast.

u/HollowNight2019 avatar

The lack of diversity on this cast is interesting given some of their previous casts have been very diverse.

This is a celebrity season so I don’t think anyone applied

Dane and Bow are indigenous at least ? But yeah damn

Australia is vastly majority white, tbh this is probably pretty representative of the population

u/cuntyroastedpeanuts avatar
• • Edited

Almost 20% of Australians are of Asian descent, and that percentage is even higher among Millennials and Gen Z Australians (and a majority of contestants are in that age group). So no, this cast is not representative of the multiethnic Australian populous.

Then again, past Amazing Race Australia seasons have not perfectly mimicked Australian demographics either, but that was because the three last civilian (non-celebrity) seasons were incredibly diverse, so it’s a bit of a wash. It’s possible that not many Australian celebrities from Asian or other minority backgrounds were interested in competing this season, but in comparison to the past three seasons, this cast’s relative homogeneity does stand out even more.

u/phillipterence avatar

You can easily tell who's not Australian. These people are mostly from Sydney/Melbourne. You can go to Burwood in Sydney and not see a single white person on the street.

Holy shit the Wiggles???

Ngl as great as Australian Survivor is they really need to add the diversity innovative US survivor has or at the very atleast push for more diversity. I don’t know what Australia is like but this isn’t a good look.

Challenge: Name an asian woman who hasn't been purpled on AUvivor

•

I wouldn’t really describe Wei as having been purpled

Once Wei stopped mattering to George, she was purpled

•

In old school Survivor we didn’t have to listen to so many sob stories- I would appreciate a return to that!!

Anjali, Amy, Brooke.

FR… Mel and Michelle were probably the most purpled contestants of all time. Not to mention Amy from that same season

u/schoolrocks1953 avatar

I feel like Amy had a decent arc for a pre merge boot, but I also just mostly watched that season in the background while doing other things

She had a few episodes was relevance, but she was pretty invisible when she wasn't going to Tribal. She's underrated though, she had some game

More replies
•

Ever heard of Sam Schoers ?

Yeah but considering how far Mel and Michelle went I think the purpling is worse

Do you say this about Japanese reality shows? Or Mexican reality shows? Australia is a predominantly white country, SIGNIFICANTLY whiter than America. There is no reason why Australia should implement the diversity initiative when the overwhelming majority of the country is white. I find it so interesting that these diversity complaints are only ever made for predominantly white countries, but it’s silence for the shows of non western states.

u/phillipterence avatar

Are you from Australia?? The significantly whiter thing makes sense if they cast these people from country towns, but they're all from big major cities. Sydney and Melbourne are like 20% asian, even higher than LA or NYC.

I also think it’s funny that the only pair I would consider not white (Dane and Bow) are from Wagga … so not a major city at all lmao

•

I live in Brisbane and its predominantly white

Nearly 35% of Brisbane is foreign born, much of that Asian.

I do hate it when I am watching The Genius and I cannot find any black players

u/funkster123 avatar

No one truly knows who applied to be on the show. Maybe very few Asians applied, or the ones that applied were not very interesting.

I love that George is on here and will enjoy the season very much if I can watch it...but we need a Luke and David team eventually.

u/chucklovesmesomebeef avatar

O lord not this skuz ball.

I thought I heard Shonee or Cara.

AU Amazing Race is a mess and often not in an entertaining way.
