Anne Hidalgo, Paris’s new Mayor

The new Mayor of Paris was officially elected by the Council of Paris on April 5th. Relive the event on video.
She is Paris’ first ever female Mayor. Anne Hidalgo, 54, was elected to the head of the Council of Paris on April 5th.
She takes over from Bertrand Delanoë, who was the incumbent from 2001 to 2014.

The Council also elected the 21 deputies who will be assisting the Mayor throughout her term of office.
